The Apple - mixed by Jon G

ATLectro’s own Jon G. has single-handedly revived my love for new electro house sounds outside of the dance floor context with his latest mix, The Apple. I just can’t listen without bouncing in my seat - each track is tech-y, modern, sometimes dirty and acidic but always enthusiastic house music at it’s best. I’m even starting to warm up to Mu’s jarring “Paris Hilton” - the chanting can be a bit much but the 808 and bongos are slowly sucking me in.

Inspired by his set at the last Cashiered and named after the bizarre film we screened at ESL that evening, The Apple features dance floor machine funk from the likes of I:Cube, DJ T, 1Up remixed by Kiki & Silversurfer, Mu, Marc Romboy and Irene Cara.

I just got that Paris Hilton track.. great stuff! Reminds me of our NYE party this year.

B, you would’ve loved the party M&A, Erin and I went to this last weekend. Guy Called Gerald was ok, but the resident DJs were playing some great House/Acid/Italo in this former dance studio loft on 14th St.
